I’m trying to deal with ‘How did my son-in-law get murdered accidentally?’”The Walk for Justice marks its third anniversary this year, with similar marches going on in Barrie, Sudbury and Sydney, N.S.“Without justice, we cheapen lives,” said Moonie Ali, who began the walk after her 15-year-old son, Terrence, was beaten to death in Scarborough in 2003. “Without justice, the victims and families have no hope or peace and the rest of us can only blindly hope that tragedy would never happen to us.”The group marched down to the courthouse at 361 University Ave.

Amber O’Hara, who suffers from a terminal illness, said she remembered hearing on the news that the body of her cousin, Carolyn Connolly, had been discovered in 2008 in a dank alleyway on Seaton St. Connolly, 54, was stabbed three times in the heart.“Police aren’t considering it a cold case yet, but I know people who know who did it and they’re not saying anything,” O’Hara said. “When I heard her name, I went into shock. It’s not our Carolyn. A part of me died.”O’Hara said she likely won’t be able to survive long enough to see justice served, but she still hopes that someone will come forward.“My mission in life was to survive long enough for justice, because my doctor (has given me) until December or early spring, perhaps,” she said. “That makes me really sad. But I guess I’ll get the answers when I meet her. She had a

heart of gold.”

Edwardson George is a big man. And he’s been able to maintain his stature despite the murder of his son Michael, 25, shot dead July 29, 2007, at Wilcox Creek Pathway co-op near Sheppard Ave. and Morningside Ave.

He says there isn’t a moment of any day he isn’t thinking about his boy.

“Very, very hard for me,” George said Friday during a plea for people who know anything to call Crime Stoppers. “He was not only my son, he was my buddy.

“Michael had two names for me: Dad and Pops,” he said.

When Michael, a rapper who went by the stage name Meyend Tricks and whose album 4 Ever was released by his family during the plea, wanted his father to be a buddy, he called him Pops.

“But when he needed me as a dad, he’d just say, ‘Dad, can I speak to you?’” George said.

“Getting up every day has been very, very difficult,” he said. “I have to make sure the rest of the family is okay.

“It hurts,” George said. “I wake up every day and I’m not myself. I’m not 100% because I don’t have him with me and I cannot speak to him, and I cannot call him when I need to talk to him about certain things that we normally talk about.”

The music was supposed to be the young man’s future, but has instead become his legacy.

The night he died, Michael had dropped off his friend in Ajax after a party and then returned to his girlfriend’s townhouse in the co-op.

When he pulled in at 3:30 a.m., he was ambushed by a gunman who opened fire before he could get out of the car.

Toronto homicide Det.-Sgt. Steve Ryan said in 2007 that the assassin apparently lay in wait and the killing didn’t appear random but it was unknown why the young man was targeted.

“I just want the person or persons who perpetrated this crime to be caught,” George said. “They can’t go around doing things like this, hurt so many families, hurt so many people. We want justice, justice for Michael.”

Atlanta R&B artist Tim Campbell also a TIMA nominee came to show support for the George family.

Michael's uncle carries his Toronto Independent Music Award for Best Rap. An award he never lived to see.

Michael’s mom Scherry called for anyone who knows anything to call Crime Stoppers at 416-222-8477.

She also challenged the pervasive gang culture mantra of not snitching.

“Man up and be a snitch,” Scherry said.

Const. Scott Mills said while Crime Stoppers points detectives in the right direction, homicide officers need witnesses.

“I never thought I would be in this position,” George said. “I know what Michael is like. For this to happen to Michael, it tells me they don’t care, people don’t care.

The Toronto Independent Music awards was held on Friday July 23rd 2010 once again at the Phoenix Concert theatre in Toronto. Awards were given out in various music genres. It was a fun night as many in the music industry came out to see their fave indie artists get recognized in what they do best. Daniela Oliva, the founder put up a great show with lots of sponsors including $60,ooo in prizes.

It was a full house of performances, green room appearances and photos. I presented the Best Alternative Rock award which went out to Waxmen. These guys JUMPED onto the stage with happiness. This is what the TIMAS are about. Pictured on the red carpet with the CEO and Founder Daniela Oliva is Atlanta based R&B artist Tim Campbell who was nominated for Best International/USA artist.

The White Ravens won but we hear Campbell raised off the roof at Yonge-Dundas Square 2 days later at Youth Day 2010 with his R&B performance. Several group, past and present nominees were in attendance like JD Era, Rich Kidd who won the Best Live Urban and many more.

THE FAMILY OF LATE TORONTO RAPPER MICHAEL"MEYEND TRICKS" GEORGE TO HOLD CRIME STOPPERS APPEAL NEWS CONFERENCE THREE YEARS AFTER HIS MURDER AND LAUNCH HIS FINAL ALBUM "4EVER"TO THE MEDIA AND PUBLIC.

On Sunday, July 29, 2007, at approximately 3:30 a.m., police received numerous 911 calls for the sound of gunshots. Officers attended the Wilcox Creek Pathway area where the deceased was discovered. He was the humble community oriented "Rapper "Meyend Tricks" real name Michael George in the driver's seat of his grey Chevrolet Malibu, in the driveway of unit 36A. He was shot several times while waiting for his girlfriend. Michael was the Toronto Independent Music Award (TIMA) Best Rap album winner in 2007 but never lived to see it. The award show was shortly after he was murdered.

Three years later there are no arrests and a $50,000 reward for any evidence leading to the identification, arrest and conviction of the person or person responsible for the murder of 25-year-old Michael George. On Friday July 23rd 2010 at 11.30am, The George family, friends, fellow rappers and Atlanta based R& B artist Tim Campbell who is the 2010 Toronto Independent Music Award nominee for Best International/USA will speak to the Toronto media and take questions.

Campbell who has been prominently known for his nominated hit song "Beautiful U" dedicated to abused women and had a domestic violence tour in 2009 will speak about violence and the death of a fellow TIMA nominee/winner. Campbell felt he had to be there to support the George family being a TIMA nominee who flew into another country for the first time and having to hear another nominee and later winner was murdered before he could receive the award!

It is however devastating and ironic when Campbell learned that the last 6 consecutive homicides in the Toronto/GTA area were domestic violence related. Toronto, Canada (homicides #23, 24, 26) and Peel region, (homicides #1 and 2) for 2010.

Michael's family Edward and Scherry George and his sister Sarah will address the media encouraging the public to help with tips for Crime Stoppers. They will then launch Michael's final work in an album titled "4Ever." An emotional hit song in the album is titled "Mom" which he dedicated to his mother Scherry will be played. Michael was her only son. Scherry appeared in the song in the final edited version along with Michael's sister Sarah. This is a must for the media to hear and it's nothing but sheer talent.

On Thursday, August 14, 2008, a children's playground was built in Michael George's memory. The Wilcox Creek complex playground was completed with the assistance of Home Depot, Costco, teachers and community members. On Monday, August 18, 2008, a dedication ceremony was held at the complex to name the playground after him. Also a scholarship was set up in Michael's name at Centennial College " Michael Henry George Memorial Scholarship. "

The scholarship is in the Business Administration program and was awarded this year to a student. Michael attended Centennial college and graduated from this program in 2005. "(He had) no gang connections, no criminal record, no nothing," Det. Sgt. Steve Ryan of Toronto Police Homicide said. "By all accounts he was just a hard working young man but somebody had a beef with him."

In the spirit of Michael's humility, his mother Scherry held a toy drive during his birthday in 2008 for disadvantaged kids. The family is also giving his entire album to the public FREE. R&B SENSATION TIM CAMPBELL NOMINATED FOR "BEST INTERNATIONAL/USA ARTIST" AT THE TORONTO INDEPENDENT MUSIC AWARDS.

Tim Campbell is a rising R&B sensation whose smooth vocals and writing creativity have been blessed for many years. His single off his debut "Silent Tears" album "Beautiful" was a huge hit and has now been nominated for a 2010 Best International/USA artist award in the Toronto Independent Music Awards in Canada which will be presented. on Friday July 23rd 2010. Campbell performed on the Mo'Nique show alongside New Edition's "Heads of State on BET (Black Entertainment TV) and has been featured on several newspapers and radio stations including hometown paper Milwaukee Journal Sentinel during this first album release in 2008. He was also interviewed by 98.3 Jammin FM in Milwaukee and Fox 6 TV was present during his performance at his former Milwaukee High school during Black History month in 2008.

In 2008/2009, "Beautiful" became somewhat of an anti-domestic violence anthem as shortly after it was released, singer Rihanna was battered by her then boyfriend Chris Brown. Campbell then went on a DV tour "Domestic Violence" where portions of the proceeds was donated to women's shelters. He released a statement in 2009 denouncing the act.

Campbell is scheduled to speak about domestic violence and violence in general at a press conference in Toronto, Canada at 11.30am on Friday July 23rd 2010 alongside the family of late Toronto Rapper Michael "Meyend Tricks" George, the winner of the 2007 Best Rap category at the Toronto Independent Music Awards who was gunned down July 2007, a week before the awards while sitting in his car and never lived to pick up the award. George's first and final album will be released to the media at that news conference and Campbell believes it is the right thing to do to support the family when you lose a comrade in the same field. It is noted that the last five consecutive homicides in Toronto, Canada (#23, 24, 26) and Peel region, a surburb homicides (#1 and 2) were domestic violence related so Campbell plans to speak about it with various Toronto media while in town.The Toronto Independent Music Award show takes place at 7pm on Friday July 23rd 2010 at the Phoenix Concert Theater in Toronto, Canada.

MOTHERS OF HOMICIDE VICTIMS #24 ANDY JAMES AND #25 BRANDON RAMDEEN'S MOTHERS TO HOLD NEWS CONFERENCE ON THE FIRST ANNIVERSARY OF THEIR SON'S DEATHS AND LAUNCH AN EDUCATIONAL TRUST FUND.

On June 21st 2009, Brandon Ramdeen and Andy James were killed in a stabbing incident after getting off the cruise ship Enterprise 2000. Police believe there had been problems on the boat during the cruise which continued when the ship docked.

In remembrance of the FIRST anniversary of their deaths, their mothers are launching an educational trust fund in their names for 3 kids whose parents may not be able to afford to pay for them to attend college. They will be speaking to the media about their views on why 4 out of the 5 suspects were charged with manslaughter and second-degree murder are OUT ON BAIL and a call for justice! Edwin Modeste, 37, and Kimron Bengy, 19, have each been charged with second-degree murder.

The news conference is now confirmed for Monday June 21st 2010 at 11.30am at Yonge Dundas Square across from the CityTV studios in the square.

HIPHOSSIP MUSIC BLOG TEAMS UP SECOND SET OF TORONTO RAPPERS TO RECORD PSA'S FOR THE TORONTO POLICE TAVIS SAFE NEIGHBORHOODS INITIATIVE

Crime victim advocate, Publicist and Music Journalist Kemi Omololu-Olunloyo has paired up local rappers with the Toronto police to record public service announcements for the ongoing TAVIS initiative. She has been hosting free press conferences for families of crime victims to make appeals to the public for tips on their homicide cases and has always been a strong supporter of Toronto Crime Stoppers and "Prevention" of crime in youth.

The Toronto Anti-Violence Intervention Strategy is a Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services provincially funded initiative, dedicated to creating and maintaining sustainable, safe neighbourhoods. TAVIS initiatives are operating in all of the 17 Toronto police Divisions and are supported by every unit in the Service.

The key message for this TAVIS PSA is that TAVIS officers are there to help the community, not harass them. TAVIS officers listen and talk with community members and the goal is to work together and basically the two parts to TAVIS is community building and enforcement.

In May 2010, Kemi whose music and PR blog HipHossip.com and Fanada.ca features You Tube videos of appeals from crime victims teamed up five local Toronto rappers with Z103.5FM and TAVIS from all corners of the city, ethnic groups and nationalities for this project. KJ THE KID REPORTER MAKES CRIME STOPPERS APPEAL ON TORONTO POLICE WEBSITE FOR DYLAN ELLIS AND OLIVER MARTIN KILLED JUNE 13TH 2008 NEAR RICHMOND STREET

KJ Taiwo, known as "KJ the Kid Reporter", a young 9-year-old blogger and anti-crime advocate has recorded a public service announcement appeal in memory of Dylan Ellis and Oliver Martin. Mr. Martin and Mr. Ellis, both 25, were shot dead while sitting in a Range Rover near Queen Street West. Police do not believe the men were targeted. They had gone back to a friend's house after watching basketball to return the wrong keys accidentally taken and were waiting in their car while someone approached it and fired shots. This Sunday June 13th 2010 marks the second anniversary.

Ellis, the grandson of philanthropist Mariano A Elia, was a graduate of a college in Quebec and was pursuing a career as a photographer. Martin was a graduate of a university in southern Ontario, and had been working at a mutual fund company in Toronto's financial district. They both lived in South Rosedale. Ellis and Martin were the city's 24th and 25th homicide of 2008.

The family of one of the victims, Oliver Martin has announced a news conference on June 13, 2010, the second anniversary of his death to announce a trust fund with Ontario Dyslexia Association (who will also be on hand). The fund will be used to fund programs that identify and assess children, for teacher training and to promote general awareness of dyslexia, something that Oliver experienced and overcame. It will be held at L’Espresso Bar Mercurio, 321 Bloor Street West at 2 p.m Sunday June 13th 2010. A year ago I was released from the penetentiary after 25 months of incarceration. During my time there I completed my high school and worked on a Business Diploma through correspondence at Northern College. When I was released I was placed in a shelter at Queen and Sherbourne even though I was convicted of drug trafficking. I never let that bother me. I searched for jobs relentlessly and found one at a call center. I worked there until last week. I was just hired for a tech support position for $35,500 a year plus benefits. I guess I'm saying anything is possible. My music is my life and now I can invest in myself. More importantly I will be having my son live with me. I feel that if I can change so can others who really want to change."

Crime victim advocate, Publicist and Music Journalist Kemi Omololu-Olunloyo has paired up local rappers with the Toronto police to record public service announcements for the ongoing TAVIS initiative. She has been hosting free press conferences for families of crime victims to make appeals to the public for tips on their homicide cases and has always been a strong supporter of Toronto Crime Stoppers and "Prevention" of crime in youth.

The Toronto Anti－Violence Intervention Strategy is a Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services provincially funded initiative, dedicated to creating and maintaining sustainable, safe neighbourhoods. TAVIS initiatives are operating in all of the 17 Toronto police Divisions and are supported by every unit in the Service.

The key message for this TAVIS PSA is that TAVIS officers are there to help the community, not harass them. TAVIS officers listen and talk with community members and the goal is to work together and basically the two parts to TAVIS is community building and enforcement.

MAY 11TH 2010: WE REMEMBER ADRIAN MITCHELL JOHNSTON A YEAR LATER

Another Mother’s Day has passed but Stephanie Johnston wouldn’t acknowledge it without her son.

Her 14-year-old son, Adrian, was gunned down in a hydro field off Scarlett Rd. north of St. Clair Ave. W. a year ago.

Last August, Stephanie, friends of Adrian, and Clemee Joseph — whose son, Jarvis St. Remy, was also murdered last year in the area and also remains unsolved — gathered at the spot to celebrate the lad’s birthday.

“Adrian was so excited (about celebrating) his 15th birthday, but he never got to have it,” Stephanie said.

“He enjoyed hanging out with his friends, listening to music ... and just living life as a regular teen. He could always make you laugh. His life was cut too short.

“It’s not fair.”

Adrian and Remy, 18, were gunned down during a bloody four-month period in early 2009, during which eight people were slain. There was fear of a violent conflict between two rival gangs, the 5 Point Generalz and the Gatorz, that caught victims in the middle.

Police responded with the Toronto Anti-Violence Initiative Strategy and violence dropped. And last week, Project Corral targeted the 5PG and two other gangs.

Answers may be forthcoming, police hope.

But no matter how many days pass, it’s not getting easier for the mom who lost her only child.

“I try not to celebrate the holidays so much anymore because, for me, there is nothing to celebrate,” she said Monday.

“Of course, I miss him. He was my whole life. I’m lost without him.

“Each day has been really difficult and I pray every day that someone will be brought to justice before they take some other child’s life.

“The days for me don’t get easier, they get harder the more time that goes by.

“I miss my son more and more each minute that passes. He was my only child and the highlight of my life.”

The answer she seeks is on the streets, but the information about who killed Adrian appears not to be forthcoming.

“Oh, I’m sure people have the answers, but the code of the street prevents people from talking,” Stephanie said. “The police chief needs to step up and take control of this city.

“Too many people are suffering.

“Adrian was a good kid. He didn’t deserve this and he had a bright future that was taken away.”

Neighbours said they heard three shots and told police they saw a man in dark clothing and a green baseball cap running away.

Adrian was Toronto's 18th homicide of 2009. Please do not forget Adrian TODAY? He was the youngest victim of homicide in 2009. Adrian was an INNOCENT Child. We must continue to put the faces of the dead in the news and never forget them. I met these moms last weekend at the memorial service for Jarvis St Remy's one year anniversary. Mothers, get your appeals and messages out. Keminications offers free PR services for crime victims. Crimestoppers is a partnership between police, public and media. We are in this together.

For the first time in more than a quarter of a century Linda Ramdeen and Ann James won’t be able to enjoy a Mother’s Day hug from their sons, Brandon Ramdeen and Andy James, because they were both stabbed to death after a boat cruise in Toronto’s harbour in 2009.

The two pals were on board the Enterprise 2000 with hundreds of other Grenadian-Canadians. Andy was dancing on the ship’s deck with his girlfriend of more than two years when her jealous ex and his friends allegedly began harassing her.

There was a scuffle but it was quickly broken up. Ann believes her son likely thought that was the end of it.

But when the boat docked at Polson Pier early that morning and Andy made his way to his car, he was jumped by several men and stabbed.

Brandon saw what was happening and rushed to his friend’s aid only to be attacked and stabbed as well.

In the wake of their deaths, a beautiful friendship has blossomed between Ann and Linda, one born out of need and understanding.

On June 21st 2010, I will be holding a news conference in Toronto for these two moms to announce an educational trust fund to support another child. Stay tuned for times and location. FAMILIES NEED PUBLIC HELP: TEEN MURDERS STILL NOT SOLVED IN 12 DIVISION.

It was a typical Friday for Jarvis St. Remy. After classes at Western Technical School, the 18-year-old went to his best friend’s apartment near Dundas St. W. and Scarlett Rd. to play video games.

Around 10:45 p.m. that day — May 1, 2009 — he headed out into the chilly night to catch a bus home.

As he stood at the stop, someone shot him twice and fled down an embankment. Joanne Wilson, his friend’s mom, looked out the window when she heard the gunfire and saw the boy lying on the pavement.

“My son was freaking out and running back and forth. He was screaming and crying,” she said. Wilson waited with St. Remy until the ambulance came. He died shortly after.

Ten days later, 14-year-old Adrian Johnston was shot in broad daylight in a hydro field a few blocks away. Neighbours came out of their houses and performed CPR on the dying boy, who was still wearing the uniform of Runnymede Collegiate Institute. He too died.

St. Remy and Johnston were the last two people to lose their lives in a string of shootings and stabbings in and around the former city of York that left eight young men dead in four months last year. Police blamed much of the violence on a turf war between four local gangs, most prominently the Five Point Generals and the Gators. Shortly after Johnston’s killing, they called in reinforcements and rounded up accused dealers and gangsters.

A year later, the area is quiet, and just last week, police arrested several more people suspected of belonging to one of the local gangs in a massive sweep. But six of the killings remain unsolved and relatives of the dead men are still desperate to know why they died.

One of them is Arlene Jackson, whose brother, Jahmelle Grant, 26, bled to death after being shot outside a Weston Rd. booze can around 7:30 a.m. Feb. 1, 2009. He was originally pegged as a member of the Five Point Generals, but police now say he may have been breaking up a fight between a group of women when someone pulled a gun.

“He was very fun-loving, he loved his family, he loved to party. I used to always say to him, ‘Watch out at your parties, especially at the after-hours,’ ” says Jackson.

She says her brother had some run-ins with police and had finished a stint in jail on a weapons charge just weeks before he was killed, but she doesn’t think he was in a gang.

It’s even less clear why St. Remy was killed. The teen had no criminal or gang history. His family remembers him as sweet and clean cut, the kind of kid who was always home before curfew.

“I miss Jarvis’ cleanliness — he was impeccable. He even ironed his underwear and socks,” his grandmother, Delores Watson, remembers with a smile.

His family believes his death was a case of mistaken identity, but police aren’t sure.

Det. Mike Carbone, the lead investigator, says he has some witnesses and suggests he just needs a few more pieces of evidence to solve the case. He won’t say if there is a suspect.

“We’re just looking for one or two more witnesses to break this open,” he says.

Det. Sgt. Brian Borg, the homicide detective leading the Johnston investigation, says he’s zeroed in on a few people who may have been involved, but the case has been stalled since last year. It’s not clear whether the killing was gang-related.

“There may be loose affiliations,” he says, adding that Johnston “may be a person who could easily be affected by (gangs).”

Lana Tisi, Johnston’s aunt, remembers her sister’s only child as a quiet boy with an irrepressible smile. She says he was attacked by a crew from a rival apartment building.

“Lots of kids are saying they know who did it, but no one will go to court,” Tisi says.

Three more killings from the area last year are unsolved: Kevin Boateng, 18, stabbed during a fight on Davenport Rd. on Jan. 16; Basil Bryan, 23, gunned down on Keele St. four days later; and Omar Waite, 29, killed on the evening of April 22 at an Eglinton Ave. W. bus stop.

One man has been arrested in the slaying of Daniel Da Silva, 22, who was shot in his BMW during a drug robbery Feb. 26, and two teens have been charged with shooting Daniel Lewis, 19, in a laneway April 21.

While homicide detectives haven’t got all the results they’re looking for, their colleagues elsewhere on the police force have.

Extra officers from the Toronto Anti-Violence Intervention Strategy (TAVIS) were deployed to patrol the neighbourhood last summer. Around the same time, police arrested Curlew Moulton, 34, and Eric Morgan, 41, two men accused of supplying the street gangs with drugs. They are in custody awaiting trial.

The violence has quickly tapered off. In the area where the officers patrolled, police have recorded just one shooting since last June.

Sgt. Jeff Pearson, coordinator of TAVIS, says police also mobilized the community to keep gangs out of their public spaces.

“One officer found a father to set up a baseball league in a local park and that helped deter (gang members), just having those extra eyes on them,” he says.

Several alleged members of the Five Point Generals were also arrested last week during Project Corral, a major police round-up of suspected gang members. They face a laundry list of drug, gun and conspiracy-related charges.

Steve Tasses, who has owned a video store on Eglinton Ave. W. near Keele for 26 years and founded the local business improvement association, agrees that things have improved since last year.

But he says the extra policing is a Band-Aid solution. He points to a lack of development in the area, partly fed by the stigma of violence, as creating conditions that allow gangs to colonize the neighbourhood and target local youths.

“These are not bad kids, these are nice kids. But when they get older and they drop out of high school or they can’t get work, these street gangs prey on them,” he says.

Jackson agrees that the type of violence that killed her brother needs a bigger solution than policing. She says that he, like many other young men, had trouble finding work because of his criminal record.

“If they can’t get work, then they turn to (crime), some of them,” she says, adding that her brother was so discouraged in Toronto that he considered moving to Jamaica to help his mother open a store. “I think he might have been happier there.”

Jackson isn’t the only one bothered by the what-ifs.

The night before his death, St. Remy told his mother, Clemee Joseph, not to wake him up in the morning because he was scheduled for a late start at school.

“I didn’t talk to him that day, I didn’t see him again until I went to identify his body,” she says, a year less a day after her son was shot. “I should’ve woken him up so that I could’ve seen him again.”

"My name is Clemee Joseph and the mother of Jarvis st Remy. It has been a very heart wrenching year for me as a mother. In this 12 months, we appealed for people in Toronto to help us send in tips on who killed Jarvis. My beloved son's killers have still not be caught. CLEMEE JOSEPH, THE MOTHER OF 2009 TORONTO HOMICIDE VICTIM #16 JARVIS ST.REMY’S OBSERVES THE FIRST ANNIVERSARY OF HER SON'S DEATH AT HIPHOSSIP MUSIC BLOG'S YOUTH RALLY, NEWS CONFERENCE AND FAMILY MEMORIAL SERVICE WEEKEND.

(Toronto, Canada, 4/26/10) The media’s presence is requested on Friday April 30th at 11.30am-1pm for a 90 minute rally and news conference at the location where Jarvis St Remy’s life was taken to commemorate the one year anniversary of his death. Join his family and friends – a moment of remembrance for a fallen son, brother, nephew and friend. The location is the bus shelter at the intersection of Dundas Street and Howland Streets.

The rally begins at 11.30am with short speeches by two Toronto Rappers Fin-S (Colin Paul) and 2010 Juno nominee U.G.O (Stevano Ugo) who are both known for their stand against guns and youth violence. Fin-S was featured in a Toronto Star article on his stand against guns and growing up in the tough streets of Los Angeles while U.G.O lost a brother in the streets of Washington D.C. A third speaker KJ the Kid Reporter who has spent time volunteering making home made posters for families of crime victims. KJ is a 9-year-old blogger and community activist who will speak about "Prevention of crime in youth as early as his age-- 9."

Constable Scott Mills of Toronto Crime Stoppers will also be present to support Clemee Joseph's family. Mills has been very active in posting all Joseph's news conferences on the Toronto Crime Stopper's website to help with generating tips. Mills has always stood firm on his belief that "Prevention" is the way to start our children in life. He visits schools daily and is the Toronto Police Youth Officer

Jarvis St Remy was an 18-year-old young man waiting for a bus home on the night of April 30th 2009 and was Toronto's 16th homicide victim -- and the third to be gunned down in the city's west end in less than two weeks. He was waiting for this same bus he takes all the time after a night of watching TV at a best friend's apartment on Dundas St. West of Scarlett Rd. Two men reportedly approached him and opened fire. Jarvis died on the way to the hospital.

As a Publicist, my only goal was to secure several interviews for her on the road to the Junos and I did just that. Kim met all her fans in St Johns starting at the visit to Juno fanfare venue where where was not an actual artist participant but showed up to meet the fans. They loved her, they took pics and autographs and when that Pepsi refresh project come out, those fans will never forget all the humility she displayed on the red carpet, the mall and other venues where she performed.
