MURDERED 14-YEAR-OLD ADRIAN MITCHELL JOHNSTON'S FAMILY SPEAKS TO THE MEDIA FOR THE FIRST TIME ON HIS BIRTHDAY JOINED BY CLEMEE JOSEPH'S FINAL SUMMER MONTHLY NEWS APPEAL CONFERENCE FOR HER MURDERED SON JARVIS ST. REMY
The family of Adrian Mitchell Johnston will be speaking out about his shocking murder and the equally shocking news of his alleged association with a Toronto gang known as the Gatorz. The 14-year-old was shot and killed in a field near Scarlett Road and St.Clair Avenue shortly after 5pm on Monday May 11th 2009. Adrian's family will be joined by Clemee Joseph, the mother of the late 18-year-old Jarvis St Remy who was killed at a bus stop a week earlier and and 2 blocks away in the same area. Joseph has been holding a summer monthly news conference appeal and campaign since May 2009 to keep young Torontonians away from violence and help solve the murder of her son.
Both families will also address the TAVIS issue and the recent 7 homicides in the last 2 weeks. The Johnston family just completed a print newspaper interview yesterday. These families are really hurting over the loss of their loved ones. Neighbours said they heard three shots and told police they saw a man in dark clothing and a green baseball cap running away. Adrian was Toronto's 18th homicide of 2009. On what would have been Adrian's 15th birthday, August 14th 2009, the maternal and paternal family will be holding their first news conference and Crimestoppers appeal at the site of his murder in efforts to finding his killer. The exact time of the news conference will be 11.30am-12.45pm at Scarlet and St Clair hydrofield where Adrian was killed. The family will then be returning immediately to Welland, Ontario to celebrate his life. Any media house looking for live noon coverage should please set up satellite vehicles an hour ahead. This will be a very emotional news conference. We thank you the media for your continued partnership in Crime Stoppers All photos of Adrian and Jarvis, their funerals and Adrian's crime scene are attached for use. We look forward to your priority coverage.
