Statement by the Mother of Jarvis St. Remy (Clemee Joseph) 7/3/09 at the Scarlett and Dundas Murder scene. Toronto Homicide #16 Jarvis St. Remy
"My name is Clemee Joseph, mother of the late Jarvis St. Remy who was murdered at this bus stop May 1st 2009. Thank you for coming to our monthly press conference and awareness rally for the summer. We have two more to go in August and September. School ended last week with a rash of stabbings on several high school campuses in the GTA. I am appealing to parents to get involved in their kid’s lives. You need to know if your sons are walking out of the house with guns and knives.
BE YOUR CHILDREN’S POLICE BEFORE THEY STEP OUT OF THE HOUSE! Speaking about two’s, did you remember that TWO days ago became TWO months my son Jarvis was killed right here? Do you know that in TWO days from now on the 5th of July marks my first wedding anniversary where Jarvis walked me down the isle and gave me away to my husband Linton? This anniversary, he would not be there to celebrate with us because someone or some people out there chose to shoot and kill him for nothing! Two weeks ago, my only son left Kasim graduated the same day as Jarvis’s prom and the outfit he would have worn to that prom was worn in his casket. We still need all your TIPS to CRIMESTOPPERS.
DO THE RIGHT THING! Many of us overlook this system. You are protected by the Supreme court of Canada 100%. I have launched an all out internet initiative to help find the killer(s) of my son. We have a Facebook fan page called “Who killed Jarvis?” where you can see albums of our events, discuss crime stories and cases and talk about positive things in the community. We have also launched a YouTube channel which will have all videos regarding my son’s case as these may JOG your memory if you keep watching.
You can also follow me on Twitter under “Jarvis St. Remy.” Know what is happening, grieve with me and talk to me…..but most importantly talk to the police!! Finally I have a message for those that KILLED my son. Give yourselves up and turn yourselves in like the two boys that shot seven people at the Detroit bus stop this week. Get a good lawyer and just do it TODAY! Give me the comfort I need. I want to thank the entire community, the media and Police for our partnership. SEE YOU NEXT MONTH…. Clemee Joseph."
Jarvis St Remy (far right) walked him mom Clemee Joseph to the altar July 5th 2008. He was not here with her to celebrate the first anniversary. On the left is Jarvis's only surviving sibling 13 year old Kasim St Remy. Below on July 3rd 2009 almost a year to the day is Kasim, Clemee and only a picture of Jarvis left. R.I.P
